Tips / Suggestions

  • If you can upgrade your pork game, go with a Kurobuta ham. Your taste buds won’t regret it.
  • The great thing about cooking a ham, is that it can last for days. I actually think it tastes better the next day. It’s hard to beat a good ham sandwich.

Smoked ham with a crazy good cherry glaze. Good luck not overeating with this one.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 1/2 ham, boneless

  • Cherry Glaze
  • 4 tbsp 4 cherry preserves

  • 2 tbsp 2 brown sugar

  • 1 tbsp 1 brown mustard

  • 1 tsp 1 cinnamon

Directions

  • Place the ham in a pan. Add water to the pan until the bottom is covered (roughly 1/4 inch). Cover with aluminum foil.
  • Mix the ingredients for the glaze in a sauce pot, bring to a boil, and then simmer for roughly 10 minutes.
  • Heat grill to 325 degrees indirect and then place the ham on the grill. Cook for 10 minutes per pound. Add wood chunks of choice (I prefer apple or pecan). During the last 10 minutes, remove the foil, and coat the entire ham with the glaze.
  • Remove the ham from the grill and let rest for 10 minutes. Slice up and dig in.
